The African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) (www.uar-AUB.org) is diligently preparing to hold its 13th General Assembly scheduled to take place in June 2022. As a prelude to this statutory event, the Chief Executive Officer conveyed a meeting at the Organization’s Headquarters, in Dakar, Senegal on February 28, 2022. During the gathering, Mr. Ndjaka recalled the active participation of the AUB in the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations- TotalEnergiesAFCON2021, organized from January 9 to February 6, 2022, in Cameroon.

“I wanted to congratulate you for your exemplary behavior throughout the competition which has just ended. This is another victory! Through the efforts made by each and everyone, we can now say that the construction of the AUB is underway,” he said, with emotion.

Indeed, the African Union of Broadcasting has been working hard for more than two years on the project of the exploitation of terrestrial rights to broadcast major events organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Its area of competence is sub-Saharan Africa with more than fifty broadcasters to satisfy in terms of TV signal production, signal protection, unilateral services commercialization as well as competition promotion.

The AUB’s 2019 package comprises the following tournaments : the Africa Cup of Nations (women & men), the African Nations Championship (CHAN), Futsal, Beach Soccer, the African Champions League, the Confederations Cup and the CAF Super Cup, for the period 2019-2023.

Looking to the future, the Chief Executive Officer urged staff to redouble efforts in order to keep the professional flame burning. “The AUB Executive is proud of what has been achieved. But, we must not rest on our laurels. There are other competitions to cover,” he said.

In the process,  the CEO addressed special congratulations to Mrs. Evelyne Faye for her personal involvement in the AUB PROJECT for the Africa Cup of Nations 2021.

Without trust, we could not have done this job. Sometimes you let us work on certain sensitive files. And Almighty God has granted us his grace for the realization of this mission,” she said happily.

On his turn, Papa Camara, one of the longest-serving employees of the Union declared that he  havs worked with more than three CEOs. « But, it is only today that I am receiving so many words of encouragement. We are a family. I wish you, Mr Director General and all the Staff, success for the future ».

During the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations, the African Union of Broadcasting was deployed across all the sites that hosted the games. For more than a month, the AUB emissaries worked in synergy with the African Football Confederation (CAF) and all its partners to offer to African Media who acquired Broadcast Rights a quality of service in line with their expectations.
